Rita Jane Melancon, age 44, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015. She was a resident of Prairieville. Rita was a good person and had a kind heart. She loved her grandchildren and her dog, Roxie. Rita is survived by her son, Jesse Melancon, Sr. and fiancé, Stephanie; daughter, Theresa Gendusa; significant other, Neil Gendusa; mother, Carol Newkirk; sister, Samantha Melancon; brother, Warren Melancon; grandchildren, John James Brown, Jesse James Melancon, Jr., and Kortnie Guay . Rita is preceded in death by her father, Warren A. Melancon. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 pm.
