A native of Holden and resident of Gonzales, she passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012. She was 81 years old and co-owner or Ray’s Snack-n-Go. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great granddaughters and enjoyed watching LSU sports. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Linda and Timothy Lambert, Alice and Roger Bateman Sr., Ricky Watson and fiance, Lisa Casey, and Pamela Rae and Kevin Cannon; sister, Laura Duplessis; brother and sister-in-law, Herbert “Manny” and Patsy Brown; six grandchildren, Roger “Doodle” Bateman Jr., Benton “Ben” Bateman and wife, Bridgette, Christopher “Chris” Watson and wife, Mistalyn, Megan Cannon Mumphrey and husband, Brian, Joshua “Josh” Watson, and Kaleb Watson and fiancé, Melissa Lessard; step grandson, Drew Abraham; three great granddaughters, Kassie Lynn Templet, Alexis Ray “Noonie” Bateman, and Kaedyn Kaye “KiKi” Mumphrey; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, A.W. and Jeanne Watson and Cat Watson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Ray V. Watson; and her parents, Buel and Annette Delatte Brown. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 8 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Chris Roussel. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in St. Amant. Pallbearers will be Roger Bateman Jr., Ben Bateman, Brian Mumphrey, James Brown, Christopher Watson, Joshua Watson, Kaleb Watson, and Gene “Corky” Mahaffey. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. John Fraiche, the staff and nurses of The Carpenter House and St. Joseph Hospice, and to her aide, Emma Turner.
