Patricia "Pat" Whitehill of Baton Rouge, La. peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on February 16, 2023 at the age of 84. She graduated from John McDonogh Senior High School and married George W. Duchmann, Jr. Together they had four children and reared them in Lake Charles, La. After her youngest children entered school, she attended Sowela Technical College and earned her nursing degree. Her career as a licensed vocational nurse allowed her to compassionately care for others for decades. Her career began with welcoming newborn babies in labor and delivery at Charity Hospital and included helping others at some of the most challenging times of their lives, including comforting patients and their loved ones while working with hospice. All this while continuing to care for her family and show them how important they were to her each and every day. She loved animals of all kinds and had a lifetime full of dogs, cats, and birds, each one special to her. She lived in Texas before returning to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to make her home with her adult children and grandchildren. Over the years she followed direction of the Holy Spirit and has led many people to Jesus Christ. Pat is survived by her sister, Hazel Molenaar; 4 children, Eileen Duchmann, Dr. Erich Duchmann (Brenda), Lawrence Duchmann (Laurie), and Laura Savoy (Wade); 6 grandchildren, Quinton Savoy, Casie Savoy, Alex Duchmann, Ally Randall, Jackson Randall, and Peyton Cacioppo; as well as Kent Whitehill, Barbara Whitehill, and Kim Munn. She is preceded in death by her father, George Harold Driscoll Sr., mother, Hazel Kuhnell Driscoll, and her brother, George Harold Driscoll Jr. A celebration of life for Pat will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 12 pm until memorial service at 2 pm at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, La.
