Oreal "Podot" Kling Jr.

Oreal “Podot” Kling, Jr. passed away on August 4, 2022 ate the age of 78. He was a native of Dutchtown and a longtime resident of Geismar. He was born on July 12, 1944 to the late Oreal Kling Sr. and Helen Stokes. He is survived by his children; Gregory Kling (Sharon), Tonya Powers (Craig Smith) and Brett Kling(Gabrielle), his grandchildren; Joey Gaudet, Seth Kling, Erika Sullivan, Hannah, Halie and Harlee Powers and Liam and Braxton Kling and his great- grandchildren; Luke Kling and Kohen LeBouef. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jodi Lynn Kling, his siblings; Juris Kling, Ronald Fairchild, Sherill Marchand and Piola Kling and his sister-in-law Marion Kling and his former wife Genevive Kling.

Oreal was a man who appreciated the simple life. He enjoyed watching LSU sports and his westerns. You could find him at a quiet place in town enjoying a few drinks with his friends most of the time. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Night Wake at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 5pm-8pm. A visitation will continue on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 beginning at 9AM with a Funeral Service at 11AM. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Greg Kling, Brett Kling, Craig Smith, Derrick LeBouef, Todd Kling and Todd Marchand and the honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Kling and Geron Crotwell. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville.
