Mona M. Guitreau, 61, of Gonzales, LA., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. She loved spending time outdoors, enjoying growing flowers and most of all fishing. She had a love for a good book, especially one of her romance novels. She also had a passion for cooking and was a truly wonderful cook. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Gerald Lee Guitreau Jr.; parents, Robert and Deloris Mire. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Guitreau (Philip Rouyea), of Gonzales; sons, Aaron (Nicole) Guitreau, of Vacherie and Eric (Candace) Guitreau, of Gonzales; two granddaughters, Logan Rouyea (Jas Cornett) and Payton Rouyea; five grandsons, Winston, Elliott, Laith, Porter, and Jameson; brothers, Barry Mire, Blake Mire, Bert Mire, and Blain Mire; and sisters, Mert Joiner and Marie Ulrich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA 70737 on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 11am-2pm with services beginning at 2pm. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales, LA.
