Mitzi Cockerham

Matilda “Mitzi” Lambert Cockerham a native and resident of French Settlement died on May 15, 2022, at Ochsner at the age of 64. Mitzi will be remembered for her love of family, friends, and entertaining. She truly loved to cook and always had something to feed everyone. Mitzi was married to Jackie Cockerham of Jena, LA who passed June 6, 2021. Jackie was the love and light of her life and a father to her children. Mitzi lit up every room that she walked into. She was preceded in death by her Father, John Robert “Bobby” Lambert and Mother Doris Lee Brignac Lambert of French Settlement, LA. She is survived by her Daughters, Sadye Nichols and Sam Smith; and Son, Jerid Achord. Mitzi was blessed with the gift of seven grandchildren, Madison and Emmalee Holley, Lydia, Luke, and Maggie Smith, Julia Achord, and Kali Willis. Special thanks to Eddy Riley and Carl Gulde for officiating the service. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Ourso Funeral Home on May 18, 2022 from 10:00 am‐12:00 pm with a service beginning at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Mitzi will be carried to her final resting point by Kenneth Randle (Honorary), Fabien Brignac (Honorary), Bo Hubbard, Von Lobell, Ricky Brignac, Shelby Brignac, Jim Patrick, and Austin Porsche.
