Mary Ann Speligene Wolff a native of Brittany, Louisiana and resident of Houston, Texas passed away on September 18, 2023 at 10:29 am at the age of 92 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Mary Ann enjoyed reading, watching Fox News, listening to music, spending time with children, eating good food, and long phone conversations about family and current events. She was sophisticated, independent, articulate, and progressive for her generation. She was a 1947 graduate from Gonzales High School. Throughout her life she worked for attorneys, accountant firms, Kelly Services, and as a secretary for Exxon Mobil for 25 years. After she retired, she sold Amway products and spent time with her dog Lucky. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a loving parent to 3 step-children, John Powers Wolff III, David Wolff, and Theresa Swain. She was also caregiver and teacher to several children from Korea including Jung Kim, Kevin Wang, Lisa Chung Bisnette, Chanel Chung and others. She was a good friend and neighbor to many in the Sharpstown area of Texas. In her later years, Mary Ann didn’t travel often but had always dreamed of visiting Switzerland where “The Sound of Music” was filmed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Speligene Sr. and Mary Bruno Speligene Lucido; her brother, Joseph Speligene, and her husband of 38 years, John Powers Wolff, II. She is survived by her brothers, Christopher Vincent Speligene and Samuel Speligene, Jr; and a sister, Annette Speligene West. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Azalea Estates senior living community and the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church on Monday September 25, 2023 from 9:00 am- 11:00 am with Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
