Mary Ellen Sheets

A native of Many, LA and resident of Gonzalez, she died on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She was 57 years old. She retired from Family Medicine Associates after thirteen years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Erika Sheets Dunaway and husband, Anthony; two sons, Brad Sheets and wife, Charoni, and Corey Sheets; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vickie and Mark Forsyth, Sr. and Linda and Bob Ward; nine grandchildren, Adriene, Laynee, Samantha, Presley, Cassidy, Sami, Wesley, Peyton, and Collin; and husband, Keith Sheets. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. and Inez C. Sibley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Mar. 1, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales. Visitation will resume on Friday, Mar. 2, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m., with Rev. Rubin Reynolds celebrant. Burial will follow in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Al Sheets, Mark Forsyth Sr., Neal Bourque, Jody Edmonston, Mark Forsyth Jr., and Steven Ward. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana Organ Procurement Association, LOPA. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Halina, Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, and the doctors and staff of the ICU departments.
