Gonzales, LA.---Mary Louise Caldwell Cook Harrell was born and raised in Keysville, Florida. She worked for over 20 years at Ben Hill Griffin canning plant in Mulberry, Florida and was later a homemaker. She married Odell Cook in 1941 and had a son, Carl Cordell Cook in 1944. After Odell’s death in 1945 as a result of WWII, she married Ronald Harrell in 1950. She was a member of Hebron Primitive Baptist Church in Keysville, Florida. In 1984, along with her husband Ronald, she moved to Galvez, Louisiana to be near family. During that time, she attended Little Prairie Baptist Church. More recently, she has lived in Baton Rouge at Old Jefferson Care Center. Visitation will be on Friday Oct. 9th, 12:00 to 2:00pm services will be at 2:00pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, La. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Galves, La. The Rev. James Nations will officiate. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Alethea Lou Rowell Cook Brannagan, granddaughters and their husbands, Christy Cook and Joseph Perry, Karen Cook and Bruce Dempsey and great granddaughter Claire Frances Perry. Preceded in death by parents, Daniel Marion Caldwell and Margaret Lauvenia Rogers Caldwell, husbands, Odell Braxten Cook and Ronald Eugene Harrell; a son, Carl Cordell Cook; sisters, Ollie Caldwell, Mildred Caldwell Purvis, Margaret Caldwell O’Kane and Vera Nell Caldwell Brownlee and brother, Ellison Caldwell; and great granddaughter Danielle Rene Dempsey.
