Mary Goff Colona was born in Baton Rouge, La to James and Alma Goff, and resided most of her life in Baton Rouge. She met her husband, John David Colona, in 1977 and they were married on April 7, 1979. After several years of marriage, they relocated out of state for a short period of time before returning to Baton Rouge. Mary and her family moved to Prairieville, La in 1994 where she resided until God called her into His Kingdom.
Mary worked outside the home from time to time, but Homemaker was her primary occupation. She spent several years as a Customer Service Representative for Louisiana Wholesale Florist where she learned a lot about decorating which was evident in her home. She also worked for and managed the overall operation of a small restaurant that she and David started. There was nothing more important to her than her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother; always putting her family’s needs above her own. She was beautiful, kind, loving, and never selfish. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, and working in her flower beds. She welcomed everyone into her home and showered them with hospitality, always offering food and drink. She was fun-loving and enjoyed family gatherings and vacations to the Gulf Coast.
