A native of Bogalusa and longtime resident of St. Amant, she passed away in Gonzales at the home of her daughter on September 21, 2011 at the age of 74. She retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company in 1997 after working as a secretary and accounting clerk for 30 years. She is survived by three children, G. Perry Babin II, M. Collette Babin Lambert and husband Brent, and Dawn Annette Babin, all of Gonzales; two sisters, Rosalie Sweet, of Denham Springs, and Margaret Collette, of Bogalusa; a brother, Rodney J. Colletti, of Port Allen; five grandchildren Aaron, Adrienne, and Amelia Lambert, Danielle Babin, and Dalton Kelly; one great granddaughter, Jalana; an adored niece, Reeda Sweet, of Baton Rouge; five nephews, godson, Mark Sweet and wife Andrea, of Baton Rouge, Michael Sweet and wife Johnna, of Decatur, TX, Mel Sweet and wife Vicki, of Denham Springs, Bryan Pierce and Jason Pierce, both of Bogalusa; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Kramer Collette. A visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, with celebrant Father Boby Alex. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be G. Perry Babin II, Aaron Lambert, Brent Lambert, Rodney Colletti, Mark Sweet, and Mel Sweet. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Sweet. She attended Annunciation Catholic School in Bogalusa and Bogalusa High School, and graduated from Baton Rouge High in 1953. After high school, she attended Spencer Business College in Baton Rouge, graduating in 1955. She enjoyed playing computer games. In her prime, she loved to dance and bowl. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Gonzales Healthcare, especially the physical therapists, for their care during her temporary stay and rehabilitation.
