Mary Lynn Avery

Mary Lynn Avery, a native of French Settlement and resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at the age of 69. She is survived by her son, Jason Wayne Avery and his wife Cathy; two grandsons, Jason "Jase" Wayne Avery II, Kaleb Avery; 1 granddaughter, Kerstin Avery; 2 brothers, Vance Ferguson, Julius Ferguson Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Avery; her son, Gregory "Greg" Wade Avery; brother, Tommy Ferguson; parents, Julius Ferguson Sr. and Una Mae Watts Ferguson. She was a 1971 graduate of French Settlement High School and owner and operator of Mary Lynn's Ceramics and Arts and Crafts for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Life will not be the same without her. She will be missed immensely by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation which will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Ascension Baptist Church from 9:00 am - 11:00 am followed by Funeral service at 11:00 am. The burial will immediately follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Meal to be served back at Ascension Baptist Church after burial. 2 Timothy 4:7-8. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
