Lynda passed away peacefully at the age of 76, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on August 31, 1947, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Elton James “Primo” Fayard and Dorothy Mae (Parker) Fayard. Lynda was a 1965 graduate of Biloxi High School, Biloxi, Mississippi.
She worked for Louisiana Public Facilities Authority until retirement in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Lynda enjoyed cooking, gardening, a scary “Sci-Fi” movie, spending time at the beach and of course Alabama football.
She is preceded in death by her father, Primo; her mother, Dorothy, and son-in-law, Martin “Scott” Templet.
Survivors include her cherished children, Michelle Miriam (Rowley) Templet and Stephen Gaylord Rowley, and his wife Tonee White Rowley; treasured grandchildren, Mallory Scott Templet, Layne Michelle Templet, Hannah Faith Rowley and Grace Kathryn Rowley; siblings, Carol Fayard Dick and her husband Richard, Rhonda Fayard Blackledge and her husband Brian, and Lisa Fayard Taylor and her husband Thane. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews to cherish her memory.
A Memorial Service will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, Louisiana, 70737, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024.
A private Interment will follow in Biloxi, Mississippi, on Monday, January 8, 2024.
