Lucille Marie Becnel

“I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have called you and you are mine.” A loving mother and grandmother and lifelong resident of St. Amant, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her home. She was born May 16, 1926 and was 87. She was a devout Catholic, dedicated to the Rosary, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking and gardening.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Lambert and her husband, Matthew and Linda Brignac and husband, Floyd; son, Stanley Joseph “Joey” Bercegeay and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Matt Lambert, Lori Lambert Parent, Kellie Brignac Duplechein, Aimee Brignac Martin, Jay Brignac, Ory Bercegeay, and Brianna Bercegeay; and great grandchildren, Alli, Maggie, and Gracie Duplechein, Berkley, Cohen, and Pierson Parent, Lily, Alex, Ava, and Ceci Lambert, Avery, Boyce, and Connor White, Chloe Brignac, and Tyler Bercegeay.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Noel Francis Mayers and Ray Anthony Becnel; daughter, Susan Mayers; parents, Alexander Savoy, Sr. and Evelina Guedry Savoy; sisters, LeAnna Richardson, Alice Templet, Mable Cambre, and Frances Savoy Gautreaux; and brothers, Franklin “Buster” Savoy, Jimmy Savoy, Fred “Pete” Savoy, Sr., Alfred Savoy, and Alex Savoy, Jr.

Visiting will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Entombment to follow in Holy Rosary Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Matt Lambert, Jay Brignac, Scott Duplechein, Jeff Parent, Ory Bercegeay, and Jerry Savoy. Francis Luke Gautreaux will serve as honorary pallbearer.
