Larry T. Walker Sr., 68, of Prairieville, LA, went to his eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a Mississippi native and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in chemical engineering. He retired in 2003. He was a member of Carpenter’s Chapel Methodist Church in Galvez, LA. Larry loved nature, enjoying the outdoors, flowers, and fishing. He attained much success with his work, but his biggest and proudest accomplishments were helping others and being a faithful servant of God, whom he devoted his life to. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that new & loved him. Psalm 18:2 “The Lord is my rock, and my father, and my deliverer, my God, my strength in whom I will trust, my buckler, the horn of my salvation and my high tower.” He is survived by his loving wife, Fayne Moore Walker; daughter, Jayne Walker; son L. Thomas Walker; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bob Donald; brother and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Patsy Walker; mother-in-law, J. Rachel Keller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruby S. Walker and father, Fred Walker. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 5 pm until 7pm. Visitation will resume at Ourso Funeral Home on Monday, July 25 from 1pm until religious service at 2pm, with Rev Jared Williams officiating. A graveside service will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11am, with Dr. John Temple and Rev. James Ruffin officiating. Pallbearers are Harlan Davis and Jay Horton. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon LeBlanc, Donny Ridinger, Jim Singletary, Arthur Shepheard, Michael Jetty, and Kenny Mangrum.
