Juliette Watts Thornton, resident of Colyell, La. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the age of 90. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church for 41 years and served in all aspects of church activities as she was needed. She loved her family and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning, and cooking but her greatest joy in life was serving her Lord and her family. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Thornton Sibley (Darron); daughter-in-law, Wanda G. Thornton; son-in-law, Kelly Davis; sister, Luvader Pierson (Ivan); grandchildren, John Sibley, Darron “Toot” Sibley (Tiffany), Charles “Jeff” Sibley (Lisa), Damien Thornton (Elizabeth), Denee Aydell (Dusty), Darcy McMorris (Jeron), Lee Ann Sanchez (Chris) and Julie Milne (Lee); 19 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Estel “Pete” Thornton; son, Douglas “Doug” Thornton; daughter, Velda Thornton Davis; and parents, Emmitt and Geneva Watts. Services for Juliette will be held at Midway Baptist Church 27264 S Satsuma Rd, Livingston, La 70754. Visitation will be on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 5 PM till 8 PM and will resume on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 9 AM until the funeral at 11 AM. Burial will be at Colyell Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Richard Guitreau, Randall McMorris, Gerald McMorris, Chris Thornton, Marvin Wise, and Walter Wise. Honorary pallbearers are Wilson Edwards, Charles “Jeff” Sibley, Tim Thornton, Trevor Thornton, and Ronnie Vona. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home.
