"God saw that I was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around me and whispered, 'Come home with me.'" A loving husband, father, son and brother, he passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. He was a field service technician with Cox Communications and a resident of Gonzales. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales on Monday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial in Hope Haven Cemetery, Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Therese A. Ramirez; son, John Mark Ramirez, III; mother, Betty Latuso and husband Mickey; father, John M. "Johnny" Ramirez Sr. and wife Debbie; a sister, Jodi Sheets and husband Cade; and brother, Jason M. Ramirez and wife Stephanie. He is also survived by other siblings, Jessica Ramirez, Joshua Ramirez, Whitney Davis, Micha and husband Julian Meaux, Mitch Latuso and wife Candace, and Robbie Latuso and wife Jamie; a loving mother-in-law, Rheba Anderson; his precious little nieces, Claire, Camille and Caylee Sheets; a niece, Jade Anderson; a nephew, Dyllin Nickens; a sister-in-law, Darla Nickens and husband Darrin; a brother-in-law, Duane A. Anderson; countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dr. Wade and Doris Schexnayder Sigmon; and paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Hortense LeBlanc Ramirez. Pallbearers will be Jason M. Ramirez, Cade A. Sheets, Joshua R. Ramirez, Ryan Ricca, Scotty Stafford, Jacob Braud, Todd Sanford and Shane Gonzales. Johnny was an avid fan of the Saints, LSU and especially his son's baseball team, the Ascension Orioles.
