John Brady Phillips went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at the tender age of 69. He was born January 20, 1953 and was a native of Watson, LA where he graduated from Live Oak High School (Class of 1971). Brady proudly served his country in United States Navy for 4 years being discharged as an E5. He returned to Watson to raise his family and spent most of his career in the galvanizing industry as a production supervisor until his retirement and relocation to Dutchtown to be with his grandchildren. He was a man who loved his family fiercely, but none more than his “Mer”. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following the grandkids in their sports activities where he was known as “PawPaw Dotter”. Brady was a man who was not afraid of a hard day’s work, took pride in a job well done and was able to inspire others to their potential. He enjoyed life and was a mischievous trickster. He was loyal, trustworthy, and loved. He is preceded in death by his son, Brad; and his other spirit angels he has now met. He is also preceded in death by his parents, James “Buster” Phillips, Sr. and Mildred “Snooks” Phillips; as well as his nephew, Jamey James Allemond. Brady is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan Meredith Ballard Phillips; daughter, Rebekah Phillips Dotter (David); and two grandchildren, William and Zachary Dotter. He is also survived by his brothers, Grady Phillips (Linda) and Alcee Phillips (Teresa); sister, Marjorie P. Allemond (Perry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and life-long friends. Brady was a member of Dutchtown Baptist Church where he faithfully served his community. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Brady’s memory to Dutchtown Baptist Church at https://dutchtownbaptist.org/give. Visitation will be held at Dutchtown Baptist Church, 36495 C. Braud Road, Prairieville, LA 70769 on Friday, March 18th, from 8:30 am–11am, with the Celebration of Life ceremony immediately following. Burial will be at the Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Rd, Zachary, LA at 1pm. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Phillips family.
