A native and life long resident of Gonzales, Billy passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Gonzales at the age of 87 surrounded by his loving family. Billy was a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a recipient of the Bronze Star for Bravery award and a retired barber. The visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM celebrated by Rev. Rubin Reynolds. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery, Hwy. 30, Gonzales. Billy is survived by his wife Rita G. Gautreaux, 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law: Charmaine Gautreaux Babin and Tim, Carla Gautreaux Ruiz and Chad, 1 son and 2 daughters-in-law: Craig Gautreaux and Lorna Schexnaydre Gautreaux and Amy Bourque Gautreaux, 1 sister: Vera Gautreaux Kling, 13 grandchildren: Shane, Brady and Carey Gautreaux, Sabrina Gautreaux Melancon, Timmy, Tabitha and Tara Babin, Haylee Munson, Mallory Lanclos, Chase and Jason Ruiz, Vance Gautreaux and Amber G. Trahan and 9 great grandchildren: Jenna, Gant, Brianna, Kaley, Brock, Jaxon, Wyatt, Lucas and Briggs. Billy is preceded in death by his parents: Julian G, and Adele Duplessis Gautreaux, 1 son: Corey A. Gautreaux, 1 great grandson: Dawson Murphy Trahan, 1 brother: J. D. Gautreaux and 1 brother-in-law: John (Paco) Kling. Billy was a member of the Gonzales American Legion Post #81 for over 60 years and V. F. W. Post #3693.
