Jeffrey Alan McKay was called home on Saturday, July 31, 2021 after taking his last stroll on the beach, the place he loved to be the most. He was 61 years old and a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very organized and structured man. He loved hard, worked hard and played hard. Jeff was the rock of his family. He put 110% into everything he did. He loved his job and all of those he worked with at Olin Chlor Alkali Products. He was always the life of the party. He loved to cook, camp and golf. Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 21 years, Annette Cook McKay; parents, James “Jim” and Carol Parsons McKay; daughter, Jamie Ranslow (Greg); sons, Brian McKay (Nicky), Dayne Coburn (Lexi), Chad Coburn (Penny), and Brad Coburn (Angela); grandchildren, Hayden and Owen Coburn; Jayden Coburn; Lucas and Landon Kidder; Mikey McKay; and Jacob Glenn; sister, Pam Williams (Gary); brother-in-law, Paul Cook (Barbara); sister-in-law, Jeanette Kolb, numerous nieces and nephews, and loving fur baby, Sophie. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Margaret Parsons; Lucille Wilcott and Jewel McKay. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana on Thursday, August 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will resume on Friday, August 6th at 9 a.m. with services to begin at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be Mike Fruge, Mike Lambert, Joey Jones, Rob Connelly, Lambert Weisse and Noah “Buba” Dugas.
