Harold Marchand

Funeral Services will be conducted for Harold Marchand, age 62, on Friday, March 21, 2014, 11:00 am at The Church in St. Amant. Interment will follow at St. Theresa of Avila Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Ourso Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Friday morning at The Church from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. A native of Gonzales and a resident of St. Rose, Harold passed away at 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Oschner Medical Center in Metairie. Harold was a former Ascension Parish President and Justice of the Peace. He worked with Farm Bureau for many years. He loved to work, enjoyed politics and knew lots of people. He was strong in his Christian faith. He is survived by his two sons, David Marchand and wife Susan of Houston, Texas and Micah Marchand of Cabot, Arkansas; sisters, Evelyn, Sharon, Ramona, Penny, Cindy, Michelle; brothers, A.P., Luke, Kim, D.J., Shayne, and James; grandchildren, Addison, Landry, Landon, and Eric, Former wife, Bonnie and fiancé, Kathy Frith. He was preceded in death by his parents Dalton and Lillie Marchand, mother, Alma; sister, ""Honey Girl"" Mary Helen and nephew Nicholas Marchand. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
