Gwendolyn Ann Landry, a sweet soul with a beautiful singing voice, she loved music, helping the elderly and children. She was a true caregiver, a friend to everyone. God needed her more in heaven than HE thought we needed her here. She will be truly missed.
Born July 14, 1950, a native and lifelong resident of Dutchtown, LA, she passed away June 1, 2018 at Oschner Hospital in Metairie, LA after a brief illness.
Gwen is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law; Lynn Landry (Janis) of Slaughter, LA, and Lloyd “Pinky” Landry (Stephanie) of Dutchtown. She is also survived by nephews; Eric (Cadi), Dustin (Cathy), Christopher and Aaron (Evanna) Landry. And her nieces, Adrienne Landry and Alana (Chase) Williams: Grand nephews, Joshua, Justin (Kaitlyn), Link, and Duncan Landry, and Landry Williams; and grand nieces Hannah, Adley, and Leona Landry, as well as Great grand nephew, Ryder Landry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Lucian and Marian (Cambre) Landry.
Pallbearers will be Eric Landry, Dustin Landry, Christopher Landry, Aaron Landry, Chase Williams, and Jeff Cambre. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. P. Cary Aguillard and Dr. Jacob Estes.
The family would like to thank the ER staff at St Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, LA, the SICU doctors and staff at Oschner Hospital in Metairie, LA, Gwen’s special friends, Pat Cox and Donna Broussard as well as Dr. Jane Peek for her presence and support during this stressful time.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at Prairieville Community Cemetery.
