Gentry Denham Durbin passed away at MD Anderson on November 22, 2023 after his battle with cancer. He was only 20 years old when he departed but in those 20 years he truly lived a life most would love to have. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, boyfriend and friend to many. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Van Durbin and Kristi Denham Durbin and his brother Grant Durbin and sister-in-law Madison Durbin and his girlfriend Jaci Ward. He was the proud grandson of MawMaw Carolyn Denham and the late R.J. Denham and MawMaw Kim Durbin and the late Nathan Durbin. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Gentry was a fun loving guy who could easily put a smile on your face. He always enjoyed sports, especially football and baseball. Gentry could often be found hanging out with his friends, they were more like a second family to him. He was goofy and easy going, but in the same breath very protective of those who mattered most. There is no doubt that Gentry’s larger than life personality will be missed.
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” – Even with the strikes building up against Gentry, he never let it get in his way of being the best version of himself.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Gentry’s Life on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 12 Noon. The visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737. The burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory.
