Floyd Alcee Eskine passed away in his home on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. A native of Pierre Part and resident of Baton Rouge, he was 73. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1956 and joined the Air Force, where he served in Germany and France from 1956-1960. He was a member of the American Legion Landry Domingue Post #328, a board member of Baton Rouge Telco Federal Credit Union for 15 years, an usher and greeter at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church, and a retired telephone engineer for South Central Bell/AT&T where he worked for 31 years. Some of his biggest hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Martha Weeks Eskine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony Eskine and Myra Berry, and Jack Barber and Rebecca Barber; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Eskine Haymon and Bryan Haymon, and Lynne Danae Barber Fayard and Kenneth Fayard; eight grandchildren, Erin Haymon Wilson and husband Jeremy, Randi Haymon, Kayla Berry Spicer and husband Jacob, Braedon Fayard, Brennan Haymon, Chandler Fayard, Laramie Fayard, and Jadon Barber; one great-granddaughter Kaylee Wilson; and two aunts, Adele Landry Breaux and Nellie Blanchard Landry . Preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Althea Landry Eskine, and a daughter, Denise Maria Eskine. Visitation at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continues on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. Services will start at 10:30 am with Dr. Dennis E. Terry officiating. Visitation will continue at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, LA Friday March 18, 2011 from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Interment at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Cemetery, Pierre Part. Pallbearers are Braedon, Chandler, and Laramie Fayard, Bryan Haymon, Jeremy Wilson, Gary Landry, Irvin Landry, and Keith Burnham. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Landry and Jadon Barber.
