Elsie Ann Babin Frederic

October 13, 1936 – September 5, 2023

Elsie Ann Babin Frederic, a resident of St. Amant, LA died at her home at the age of 86 on September 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Frederic Sr.; her parents, Felicien and Beulah Babin; three sisters, Joel “Put” Delatte, Anna Faye Shepard, and JoAnn Babin; and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven children, six daughters, Arlene Sutton (Kenny) of Gonzales, LA, Joelle “Jody” Dedon of Osyka, MS, Rosana Stafford (Wayne) of Walker, LA, Mona Young of St. Amant, LA, Hope Fontenot (Billy) of French Settlement, LA and Amanda Chamness (Virgil) of Prairieville, LA; son, Dewey Frederic Jr. (Beth) of St. Amant, LA. She also had a total of 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren. She loved her family. She was also survived by one brother, Gary Babin (Dolores); one sister, Pauline Bercegeay; and one brother-in-law, Arthur Shepherd, all of St. Amant, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial of Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Scott, David, Johnny, Kale, Jeremy, and Stephen. Honorary pallbearers include: Shane, Kody, and Konner.
