Edward Bledsoe, or Bro. Ed as he was affectionately known, was born in 1931 in Madison, Alabama. He went to his home with Jesus on Oct. 6, 2022 from his home in St. Amant. He is the last of 11 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 yrs, Sharon and 3 children and their spouses: Sabrina and Michael Anderson, Scott and Vanessa Bledsoe, and Teresa and Glen Newell. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Brandon and Kara Anderson, Abigail and Josh Lejeune, Connor and Megan Bledsoe, Kaleb, Madison, and Nathan Bledsoe. He is also survived by 4 great grandsons: Anderson, Brandon, Brooks and Britton.
He is the founding pastor of Household of Faith Church, known in the beginning as Faith Tabernacle. He planted and pastored the church for 27 years from 1971-1998. He also founded Ascension Christian Schools, known then as Faith Academy in 1981. He also helped plant numerous churches in the region and trained up others to pastor. His legacy is one of being a spiritual father in leading many to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a spirit-filled life. He helped oversee numerous churches and was a pastor to pastors. He had a tremendous heart for world missions and traveled the world extensively sharing the Good News of Christ’s love as well as leading Faith Tabernacle to invest heavily into world missions. His legacy is one of integrity, devotion, humility, spiritual strength and character. Services will be on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at Household of Faith Church 10469 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737.
