Douglas J. "Doug" Frederic

GONZALES-Douglas J. (Doug) Frederic, resident of Gonzales, died at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital on Friday, October 9 at 7:55 am of cardiac arrest. He was 68. Doug was born in Donaldsonville, LA on June 1, 1947. He graduated from St. Amant High School in 1965. After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force, he earned his degree from LSU in Industrial Management. He retired in 2009 after working 35 years in his field. Doug enjoyed traveling and casinos but what he loved the most was spending time with his family, especially with his children and two beautiful grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ramona Rossi Frederic; son, Ryan Frederic and wife Heidi of Gonzales; daughter, Erin Frederic and husband Cody Pond of Mount Airy, Maryland; grandchildren, Jackson Frederic and Sadie Frederic; mother, Eula Mae Frederic of St. Amant; brothers, David Frederic and wife Connie of St. Amant, Johnny Frederic and wife Virginia of St. Amant, Kenny Frederic and wife Kristi of Baton Rouge; sister, Janice Meyers and husband Joey of St. Amant; sister-in-law, Jeanne Frederic of Dover, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Edith Rossi; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Cagnolatti and husband Frank, Amy Rossi of Gonzales, Marybeth Glenn and husband Jeff of Fallbrook, California; brother-in-law, Norris Rossi, Jr. of Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, John Frederic, Sr.; brother, Donnie Frederic; father-in-law, Norris J. “Blackie” Rossi; maternal grandparents, Robert and Lucille Martinez and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Alice Frederic. Visitation will be held in Gonzales at St. Mark Catholic Church on Monday, October 12, 2015, 9:00 am until 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:30 am and burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales.
