Clark Gabriel Lambert, a lifelong resident of St. Amant, LA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the age of 79. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1966-1969. Clark was lovingly referred to as the “Mayor of St. Amant”.
He was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He always picked up donuts on Sunday morning for his family to enjoy throughout the day and was a regular at Pit Stop. Clark was employed as a custodian by APSB at St. Amant High School for 36 years with perfect attendance for 35 of those years. He held the keys to the school and athletic facilities and could tell you exactly what door or gate they opened. He was a member of the Booster Club and performed various duties for the school and athletic department. He marked and painted the fields, drove team buses, ran the game clock, and was a member of the chain gang. He was voted support person of the year in 1997, honorary captain of the football team twice, holds 8 softball championship rings for his beloved Lady Gators, and was inducted into the SAHS Athletic Hall of Fame. His pride and devotion for St. Amant was unrivaled.

He is survived by sisters, Linda Lambert and Arlene Moran; brothers, Gene Lambert and Dean Lambert (Karen); Nieces and Nephews, Don (Sonya) Hernandez, Debra Benzine, Gary Lambert, Sonya Dencausse, Jerry (Emily) Lambert, Nicole (Darren) Chambers, and Bryce Lambert; generations of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery and Clonise Bourgeois Lambert; sister, Shirley Hernandez; sister-in-law, Linda S. Lambert; and brother-in-law, Perry Moran. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA from 5pm to 8pm and will resume on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, LA from 9am until Mass of Christian burial at 11am. He will be laid to rest in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Hernandez, Jerry Lambert, Bryce Lambert, Chase Hernandez, Darry Benzine, and Tyler Savoy.
The family would like to thank the many friends who reached out with concern for Clark during his hospital stay and the outpouring of love received from the Gator Nation.
