Lifelong resident of Prairieville, La; passed away at the age of 70 on January 8, 2018. He was a retired barber of 45 years. Proudly served his country as a United States Marine and was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family and his beloved country. C.J. was passionate about cars, motorsports, cooking, gardening, LSU Football, LSU Baseball, and was an avid reader. He loved Major League Baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. C.J. was a member of the Marine Corps Association, First Marine Division Association, Mustang Club of America, Good Guys Rod & Custom Association, and Alternate Route Cruisers.
C.J. is survived by the love of his life, wife of 41 years, Anne Cifreo Landry, and the Apple of his Eye son, John Terrance Landry, and most faithful and loving companion, “Scruffy”. Preceded in death by mother, Estelle Collier Landry; father, Cecil Yve Landry; sister, Barbara Jean Landry.
Visitation will begin on Friday from 9:00 am until Religious Service beginning at 11:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA; burial to follow at Prairieville Community Cemetery, Prairieville, LA. Pallbearers will be Doug and Jason Babin, Paul and Marvin Johnson, Tim and Chris Lanoux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Babin, Bobby Elisar, Chris Garza, and Leon Parent.
Special thanks to Dr. Ryan Shows, he was more than a Dr, he was also a friend; the nurses at Clarity Hospice; Katie Davis, RN who not only helped C.J. medically through his difficulties, but became a treasured friend; Mike Tippit, Chaplain, who visited weekly and kept him encouraged spiritually.
