Carroll Paul “Snag” Hebert passed away at the age of 75 on Friday, July 8, 2022. He was born on January 14, 1947 to the late Melvin J. Hebert, Sr. and Lena Guidry Hebert in Gonzales, LA. He was a student and band member of the first graduating Class of 1967 from East Ascension High School. He worked for the East Baton Rouge School Board, retired as a Millwright with Nichols Construction and Vulcan Chemical, and working for the past nine years with the Ascension Parish Mosquito Control. He was a very talented musician and drummer playing with the Feldspars Band, Mike Broussard and the Night Train, Kenny Fife and the Bac Trac Band, Cruisin and numerous other bands throughout his 53 year musical career. He had a great and genuine love for horses and trail riding. He was a lifetime member of SLTSA, South Louisiana Team Sorting Association. Snag is survived by his two daughters, Joni Jenkins Truxillo and husband Dave Truxillo of New Orleans, LA and Stacy Jenkins Ashton and husband Tommy Ashton of Baton Rouge, LA. His companion Sheryl Smallwood of Gonzales, LA and his siblings, Melvin J. Hebert, Jr. and Norma Burns, Carolyn Hebert Sholar and Glenn Sholar, Lloyd Hebert and Sharon Hebert all of Gonzales, LA and eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dolores Hebert Diez. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. N. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 LA -73, Prairieville, LA on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Prairieville, La.
