Bill Roberts

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 9:30 a.m., surrounded by his loved ones at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a retired employee of Cooper T. Smith in Darrow, LA. Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol Gillis Roberts; four children, Major William P. Triche and wife Cathy, Lisa R. Cernich and husband Steve, Todd A. Roberts and wife Donna, and Joseph E. Roberts and wife Joell; nine grandchildren, Jake, Brooke, and Hunter Roberts, Courtney Savoy, Jalyn and Jayda Roberts, Briana Triche Hudson and husband Zachary, Paulina Triche Wetzel and husband Adam; and Sophia Triche; three step-grandchildren, Fallene C. Cannon, and Chris and Chance Cernich; and one step great-grandchild, Olivia Cannon. Also survived by five daughters, Tina Hymel, Alaina Jones, Karen Graves, Robin Roberts, and Donna Baker; 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren from these five daughters; one sister, Margaret “Larkell” Simmons; one brother Dareil Roberts; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eddie and Susan Gillis; and sister-in-law, Sheila Roberts. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Walter Roberts and Ethel Bourgeois Roberts; one sister, Barbara Ann Faircloth; and two brothers, Joseph and Kerney Roberts. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Jimmy Little. Entombment will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Major William P. Triche, Joseph Roberts, Todd Roberts, Steve Cernich, Jake Roberts, and Eddie Gillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Roberts and Dareil Roberts.
