Anthony Elvis Pierre Sr.

A native of Gonzales and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011. He was 50 and enjoyed acting and singing in passion plays at numerous churches. He was a retired carpenter and loved LSU football so much that he spent 12 years as a marshal at football games. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Steen Pierre; daughter, Elizabeth Pierre Speights and husband Robby; son, Anthony Pierre Jr.; two stepdaughters, Lainey and Madison Whitworth; two sisters, Sharon Leino and husband Edward, and Melissa Moss and husband Thomas; and two brothers, Edward Pierre and Charles Parker. Preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Rose Hull Pierre; and sister, Mary Pearson. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Sunday, Nov. 27, was from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in New River Baptist Church Cemetery.
