A Funeral Mass for Ann Adele Smith Hebert, 68, will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass of Christian Burial. A graveside service will be held at Ascension of our Lord Mausoleum in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, at a later date. Ann was born on December 21, 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 7, 2022 at her home in Prairieville, Louisiana, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Ann graduated from Istrouma High School in 1971. After graduation, Ann worked as an administrative assistant for City National Bank in Baton Rouge, State Bank in Donaldsonville, and Borden Chemical in Geismar before relocating with her family to Atlanta, Georgia. There Ann worked with a national fund-raising company helping schools in the Atlanta metro area raise money to support education. She retired in 2009 when she returned to Louisiana. She enjoyed camping, travel and especially spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and siblings. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Frances Marston Smith and Wallace Franklin Smith. Surviving her to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 48 years, James M. Hebert, Sr. (Jim); their son, James M. Hebert, Jr. (Mike) and wife Tiffany Jones Hebert; grandchildren, Anna Marie Hebert, Kinsleigh Guarisco, James M. Hebert, III (JT); and two sisters, Janese Pugh of Central and Phyllis King of Walker. The family would like to especially thank the staff at Bridgeway Hospice for the attention and compassionate care they provided to her during this difficult illness.
