Angela Carville Crochet, 62, born January 9, 1961, was a native of Carville and a resident of Slidell, La. She was the youngest of a large, gregarious family. She passed away unexpectedly, at her home, on September 1, 2023. Angela was an extraordinary woman characterized by her faith, love of family and friends, and her dedication to guiding and molding young minds. She touched the lives of countless students with her passion, generosity, and kindness throughout her 38-year teaching career. Angela was a devout Catholic and prayer was an important part of her daily life. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. Defined by her humor, love of life, cooking, and her devotion to her children and grandchildren, she and Gary have entertained many with their hospitality and welcoming home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nippy and Chester Carville, brother William Kenneth “Bill” Carville, sister Bonnie Carville Reames and her husband Michael Reames, as well as her in-laws John and Dora Crochet, her sister-in-law Donna Crochet and her niece, Rebecca Brooks. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary Lionel Crochet, her two children Jeanne Koniditsiotis (Eli), Lonnie Crochet (Mandy), as well as her six beloved grandchildren, Sophie, Samuel, Jack, Cameron, Brooke, and Levi. She is also survived by her siblings, James Carville (Mary), Mary Anne Olivier (David), Gail Bourgeois (Ricky), Pat Hoffman (Sparky), Steve Carville (Anne), and Holly Coates-Carville. Visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in St. Gabriel, La, from 8 am to 11 am followed by mass celebrated by Fr. John Carville, Fr. Charlie Landry, and Abbot Justin Brown, OSB, and Deacon John Veron at 11 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
