A resident of Prairieville and native of New Orleans, he passed away at his home Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. He was 70. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran with the rank of staff sergeant and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Friday, Oct. 8, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Brenda Zeringue Allday; four daughters and spouses, Theresa Fuller and Michael, Sandra Logue and Kevin, Nancy Hayzlip and Marc, and Michelle Wolf and Corey; son, Henry Thomas Allday; brother, J.W. “Deet” Allday; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan and William Logue, Lance and Olivia Turner, Tammyjo, Elijah, Simon and Randy Hayzlip, Michael Fuller and Natasha Brooks; six great-grandchildren, Jakob, Jayda and Jerramy Logue, Gavin McMamus, Oliver Hayzlip, and Cason Fuller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Smith Allday; children, Mark Steven and Alonzo Allday Jr.; and many sisters and brothers. Pallbearers will be Henry, William, Paul, Terry, Jonathan and Lance. Honorary pallbearers are Elisha, Simon, Josh, Michael, Randy and J.W. “Deet”.
