Allen was a wonderful person, a gentle soul. He is one of my professional mentors. I cherish the memories of working with him at Civil Service. He was easy to admire and respect. I appreciated his sincerity and his ability to stay calm under pressure. He was a proven leader.   I’m so glad our paths crossed on this journey of life. My heart goes out to his family. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you.

Beautiful words used in the obituary sum up the deep sense of loss felt by all of us who knew him.  He was quite simply the best of men.


I have known Allen for many years and in several roles. He was not only a friend to me but to the tens of thousands of state civil service employees, most of whom he never met. He was always fair and even in troubled times strived to preserve and enhance the merit system of State employment. He was a wonderful person. The world and many lives are better because of him. I will miss him very much. 

Flory, I am so sorry for your loss of your love , Haley.  He will always be watching over you just as he did here on earth. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless and keep you . Love you.

I'm so sorry to learn of Allen's passing.  We met years ago through my job in a state govt. HR office.  I cherished his friendship,  gentle demeanor, guidance & support.  He was a real gem to know & learn from and was a tremendous asset to La. in his professional capacity.   I know his co-retirees will miss him when they gather for coffee.  My thoughts & prayers are with the Allen family.  Rest in peace Allen.

I am truly saddened and sorry to learn of Allen’s passing.  In the many years I worked with him he was nothing but kind and friendly.  Flory, his girls and many family members and friends I know you will all miss Allen beyond measure.  May the Lord bless you all with strength and comfort.

Uncle Haley was the best godfather a girl could ask for! He made it to as many volleyball & basketball games as he could, gifted me a car, and was always up for lunch when I was in town. It's so important to have strong connections with adults other than one's own parents and Uncle Haley was a kind, compassionate, caring person who modeled how to work and play hard. I was always amazed that he was still playing tennis, running, and going out hunting when other's his age had stopped those hobbies long ago. He seemed to find that balance of strong yet gentle and I'll forever strive to find that balance myself. I wouldn't be who I am or where I am without Uncle Haley and I'm forever grateful to have had such a wonderful Uncle. Sending all my love....

My memories of Haley go back to Morganza when we were grammar school age. Sometimes we would hang out together,  go hunting, and I was a frequent visitor to his home. 
Haley was very smart, a great athlete, and a very fine fellow. He was always a gentleman and modest, kind, and quiet. Haley achieved so much in life, and I know his parents would have been so proud.

I had the pleasure of working with Allen for many years in state service.  Always the consummate gentleman, professional, and caring of the many employees for whom civil Service was responsible under his leadership.   His door was always open. We felt the loss when he retired from state government.   I am so sorry for your family’s loss of this kind soul.  

I knew of Allen as being the head of Civil Service when I was a state employee.  I got to know him when I went to work for the Retired State Employees Association.  I am deeply saddened by his passing.  Allen was a kind soul, smart and lifted those around him.  He was a voice of reason and kindness.  My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.  I am proud to say he was my friend.

Allen was greatly respected by all at SCS.  I so much enjoyed working under his leadership.  He was such a nice and gentle soul.  I am blessed to have known him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Allen  for many years.  He was  a fierce leader for all civil servants.  He treated everyone with respect.  A true Christian that lived his life to the fullest.

I remember Allen Hale from my time as a student at Morganza High. I was a Senior and Allen Hale was a Freshman. He was bright and articulate with a keen sense of humor. He will be missed. 

I got to know Allen while working at RSEA. He was a very kind man with a wonderful smile and laugh. I consider myself richer for having known him. May the Lord bless his family with peace knowing that Allen is now pain-free and no longer suffering in Heaven.   All my love and prayers to Flory, the girls and their families. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😘😘😘
