Patricia Nau Crockett, 77, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012, at The Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Boulevard, Highlands Ranch, Colorado. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Maggiano’s Little Italy, 7401 South Clinton Street, Englewood, Colorado.
Patti was born on April 17, 1935, in Detroit Michigan, to Henry and Irene Nau. She met her husband, David S. Crockett, when they were both students at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Dave and Patti were married on August 25, 1956 in Detroit Michigan and enjoyed 56 wonderful years together.
Following college, Patti and Dave lived in Ohio, Maryland, Connecticut, and Iowa before eventually settling in Colorado and Arizona. Once both her sons were in school, Patti returned to college and earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Iowa. She taught and served as a consultant for special needs children in Iowa and Colorado for more than 25 years. She concluded her professional career at Denver Christian Schools.
Patti enjoyed running, reading, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for animals of any kind. Her belief and love for Jesus Christ was an important part of her life. She and Dave attend Rockland Community Church in Golden, Colorado and she was a member of Grace Community Church in Surprise, Arizona.
Patti is survived by her husband Dave Crockett, sons David and Kevin Crockett, daughter in-law Julie Crockett and brother Franklin H. Nau. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Irene Nau.
