To the family of Billy R,

A book could be written with the stories.  Not only the true stories of Bill's life and adventures...but the “questionable” stories Bill told!  Like the one about the time he was pulled over for speeding whilst hauling his horse back from hunting.  He told the officer, “It's OK trooper, he's a race horse.”  I laughed so hard I cried.  Today I'm tearing up in remembrance.  His was a mind of wit and imagination like no other.  And gratefully, he not only entertained, he shared his wisdom with me...often.  I respected and admired him greatly.  
I got to know Billy R. as we worked together.  In the old days, when we had slow days, he and I would talk about many things including our faith.  And, I wonder how many outside of his family know what an incredible singing voice he had.  He actually sang a hymn for me once while we sat in the locomotive.  Unbelievably rich tone and perfect pitch.  Even better, I suspect, than his baseball/softball pitch!
I only just learned of Bill's passing so please know that I deeply regret not paying my respects earlier.  And an even bigger regret is my not keeping better contact with my old friend.  
Dorothy, I know that you and Bill raised the kind of family that will always be close and loving which is a valuable testimony and comfort.  I also know that one day, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I will visit with Bill again and while I'm not in a big hurry...I do look forward to that day.

Billy R. Working the train crew with you was so much fun. You made all of us laugh every day.  I will always remember you with your hat off to the side of your head. Or the time I fell asleep switching cars on the south side. You started beating the side of the engine with this long 2x4 to wake me up. Bill I pray the Lord Jesus bless your family, and give them peace, that we will all see you again in heaven.                                  Patrick Losasso

My Deepest sympathy and prayers goes  to Billy's entire family. The photos that are posted of him online were uplifting, seeing Billy throughout his life with his family/friends. 
 He loved animals,spoke about his horses past and present, told all those amazing hunting stories in correspondence to those that hung on his family room wall,pointing to each one and telling the story of each "hunt" of the prize! He would speak proudly about his Grandson who played professional baseball,reporting how he played the day before, and asking Dorothy what time and channel the game was that day on so he could be a proud Grandfather ,have a daily game report.
Billy was so warm and caring even when he did not feel well,he tried to hide his physical pain through his bright smiles ,laughter and friendly "hello,how are you doing today?" greeting when stopping by and his concerning "you be careful out there today" when departing from his daily home nursing visit. He was such a sweet caring man, concerned more about how everyone else was doing.
 He will not only be missed by his family/friends but all of those who stopped by to see him providing  healthcare/treatments/rehabilitation at home. 
God Bless you Billy, we will all see you when we are reunited again in the Kingdom of Heaven! I will see you at the gates one day, and I expect that same freindly greeting from that warm ,kind man!

To my favorite Uncle, thanks for your love, humor, and many memories.  Your life will not be forgotten because you will live on in our hearts forever

Your memory and quick wit wil never be forgotten, you will be missed and loved always.
