Victor, I remember your excitement when you told me all about your magical trip to Hawaii so many years ago. Through your words I could  smell the beach air, feel the warm water, and imagine the fun times you had.  

Victor, your passion and enthusiasm for charity work by collecting blood and funds for those who need it is an inspiration. I still remember your encouragement to go for a dip in the icy waters of the California coast every first of the year. I can hear you describe how much fun you have doing it and your encouragement for me to try.  I still think you are nuts!

Victor, you smile so much and always have something to laugh about. Your charisma is genuine and your conversation fun. Thank you for being an awesome cousin here on this earth.  When I think of your impact on the community in your short time here on earth, I'm blown away. I imagine you are in heaven with our loved ones having a wonderful time.

Uncle, Aunt, and family we are deeply saddened by this heartbreaking loss. We pray the Lord will comfort you when there is no hope left. We pray that God's genuine love for Victor will bring you strength in these immensely dark times.  We pray that when you feel so much pain, God will bind up your wounds. We pray when your spirit is crushed, God will save you. We pray that God will be your strength and portion forever. In your sorrow, we pray for you to know God's complete comfort and strength.

One of the many good times with primo Vic

One memory that stayed in our minds  was one time we went to the turkey tassel, a yearly football competition between two
High schools in Pasadena. The one year was at PHS . We took Anastasia to go see the game, Victor  was sitting a few benches down.  He came to say hi but climbing each bench up he got stopped so many times, everyone  knew him so we can see how so many  people got touch by his  friendly personality.  We love him will miss him a lot but will always be in our hearts.  Until we see each other again 

Victor was such a bright soul. He always knew how to light up the room, if it was with laughs or his amazing smile. Whenever he was around you know he was going to tell some funny stories for sure. Always one to make you feel included and seen. I’m gonna miss Victor but I know we’ll meet again.

My darling Victor I will always remember you with that smile & your contagious laughter you’ll forever live in our hearts till we see you again when God calls us home too., I know ur smiling up there in the presence of our creator 🙏

Loved being with my Brother Vic on New Years. I may have only dipped my toes in the water but loved having a New Years Champaign toast with mi Hermano and I was always willing to take a group photo of the real participants. I am so torn that I will not be with him again in this life. I love him so much. 

Vic was a warm and lovely soul who brought a smile to most everyone he knew and loved. So many good times with my brother but now never enough. I remember being alone in Pasadena and calling Vic to come kill a spider ( my greatest fear) at midnight! He was a little to tired but he walked me through and gave me courage to take it down . To this day that is the only spider I have confronted.  

Victor felt loved at my house. He was so loved he felt he could bring two hardcore Dutch soccer fans in to our Spanish home to watch the final game of the world cup 2010 Spain vs Netherlands. I also remember Vic sitting in this very chair when he watched the worst super bowl. Playing the super bowl number game he won because he had 3 and zero and this was the all time lowest scoring game.

This jersey has been up half dome, to the French Alps the top of the Tokyo tree and is so near and dear to me because my brother Vic gave it to me. 

Vic started the polar bear tradition and I love it I always try to find some ice cold water to start the new year with.

Sillier memory, in my youth I may have on occasion mooned people for no good reason. One particular instance Doug was driving with Vic in the front seat and I may have mooned someone out the rear window. Doug slammed on the breaks and Vic may have had someone's butt end up right in front of his face.

I first met Vic about 2005 at the Sierra Madre Pool. I was new the area and to life guarding. So my first couple days I was stressed and nervous. Vic greeted me everyday and made me laugh as I got through my first couple weeks. We became good friends over the next couple years. We had life talks, funny talks, some jam sessions. But mostly we laughed. He’d do anything for anyone without even hesitating. I will deeply miss catching up with him now and again, but it’s pretty clear how he impacted so many lives. I’ll miss you Vic, thank you for helping the little teenager walking into the pool and helping him walk out a young man. The “Un Million” will live on. Love you brotha, rest in power 

I choose to remember my cousin Victor as the funny, talented, witty beautiful soul that he was to every person that crossed paths with him. I will remember his smile, his laugh, and the greatness of his heart. I would look forward to his annual birthday drive for the City of Hope because I knew he did that to honor our tia Dolores who spent her last days at City of Hope before losing her battle to cancer. I was always fascinated with his annual Polar Bear plunge every 1st of the year- another fundraising opportunity; I would tell him I was in on the donation but could not do the plunge. He would say “ you really should come out and give it a try sometime cousin!” And we would laugh because I would just tell him it was crazy to do that.  In retrospect, I regret not coming out to do it- at least once my sweet cousin. 
I’m going to miss you and will remember you in every beautiful sunset and in everything you jam packed in your 37 years of life to make this world a better place. 

I was lucky enough to know Vic for over 24 years, and I have some great memories growing up with him. I met Vic on the Pasadena High School JV soccer team our freshman year (1999), but we didn't become friends until junior year in Mr. Eatons class. We bonded over having the same cell phone and ridiculous comedy bits from the internet. We went to Pasadena City College after high school and took film class together, which was an excuse to hang out and watch movies at school. Vic would also film videos for his classes and would ask us to help in the videos. He enjoyed making and editing the videos and wanted to work as a cinematographer. Around the same time, Vic got a job with me at Sierra Madre Pool, a job he kept for many years. 
In 2008, Vic founded the San Gabriel Polar Bear Club (SGVPBC) which arranged its annual Polar bear plunge and organized annual blood drives benefitting the City of Hope. He would get a ton of people together to jump in the ocean the day after New Years as a way to welcome in the new year. We did many of these Polar Bear Swims at Venice Beach. Vic's fundraising efforts through SGVPBC resulted in thousands of dollars donated to City of Hope and hundreds of blood and platelet donations. Vic continued to fundraise for City of Hope his entire life. His efforts helped thousands of people he almost certainly  never met. We would meet up to watch sports, especially soccer and football. We attended many sporting events, and really loved going to Chivas USA games. I always relied on him to give me his take on the most recent Raider game. Vic loved to play his uke at local cafe's. He was a great musician and loved creating Uke versions of popular songs. I've learned about so much good music because of Vic. I have so many memories of Vic that can't fit on this page but feel blessed to have known him for so long. My condolences to the Guerrero Family. You raised an excellent son, who has left an indelible impact on those around him.

I met Vic one summer working at the Sierra Madre Pool. Back then, he taught me everything I needed to know about being a cashier, and over the 15 years since, he taught me everything about what it means to be a friend. 

Vic was kind and caring and truly a one-of-a-kind human being. I could talk with him about anything. He was honest and gave the best advice straight from his heart. We always had fun together and were constantly laughing. His laugh is one of the many things I will always remember about him. It was contagious and so joyful. Half the things we laughed about probably wouldn't make sense to others, but like Raul would later say, we had our codes. 

Vic had this gift of bringing out the best in people and that's because he was the best. He cared deeply about his friends and family and he never hesitated to show it. One year for my birthday he gave me a journal and wrote the following Mr. Rogers quote on the first page: "If you could only sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to the people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person." Reading these words will always remind me of Vic and his amazing friendship. He was so important to so many people and impacted us each in his own way.

To Raul and Josefina, you raised a beautiful son who was good and kind to everyone he met. He leaves a lasting legacy of love that I hope you can take comfort in. 

To my friend Vic, there is something of yourself that will always be with me. You were the best person, the kindest soul, and the truest friend. I am so lucky to have met you at the pool all those years ago and am so thankful I get to carry a piece of you with me always. I love you, Vic. Your friend, Katie. 

Vic was a wonderful man. I only knew him online, but he's been my friend for half my life. He glued a lot of us together. The world is a poorer place without him in it. We love you, Vic.

Despite the distance that put 2 large states in between us, Victor was like a brother I never had.

His last text he sent to me was wishing me a happy birthday.

Vic was the face of the Sierra Madre Aquatic Center for many years and a fixture in the pool community. Vic welcomed all with his warmth and positive vibes!

To Victor's parents Raul and Josefina, brother Carlos and all the family, our prayer is that God's mercy and compassion bring you some degree of comfort through the heartfelt love and support expressed by friends, family and all who knew and loved Vic. 
We were rooting for and keeping Vic elevated in prayer as soon as we learned he was hospitalized. Hearing the news of Vic's passing, hit with such a sting. Although your loss is huge and is yours, we do share in it with you. We are thankful for his life and kind loving nature. It was always a treat, when Sevan and Robin would have friends over for a BBQ at our home and we would have the opportunity to catch up with Vic and watch his tender kindness, stubborn feistiness, fun sense of humor, beauty and playful heart shine. When he paired his sweet singing voice with playing his ukulele,  his soul was truly revealed. Although his life was cut short, the life he lived was big. How many people can say their souls were revealed while here on earth. May that which shined in him in life, shine even brighter in death through each memory/reflection. We feel lucky to have known Victor and to have been his friends. Vic’s laughter and his exuberance for life were infectious. He taught all of us to slow down, enjoy the company of those around you, and to embrace the silly parts of life. Victor approached life with a smile, and being around him you couldn’t help but smile too. While we are so incredibly saddened by his passing, we hope to carry on his joyous spirit and find the humor in every day activities (like making sandwiches). To Raul and Josefina, you raised an incredible man, we are so thankful for him and you should be incredibly proud. Carlos, your older-brother-taunting helped to foster his competitive spirit that we loved to hate. Victor loved a good argument and he loved a good competition. He was both the best and the worst person to watch sports with. We will miss our soccer watching, RHCP zoom meetings, and 4am philosophical life discussions, but we know you are flying high and enjoying all the things you love. We love you Vic, A Hui Hou! Vic is dearly loved, fondly remembered and highly respected by his big brother Carlos. Both grew up together in an atmosphere of love, support for each other and jovial friendship. Carlos will deeply miss his baby brother, his contagious laughter and his big wide smiles.
