It has been one year you are gone from us. I was at a store and there was a man standing there, and when I looked at him he looked just like you! from his eyes to his nose and mustache. I was in shock! I looked with disbelief? It was as if you where right there next to me. we started to talk and his voice I swear sounded just like you Dad. If any one could have seen this man they would have not be leaved it! his words where words you used. He walked with a slow steady pace like you, and be fore he left he said he was going to go gamble at one of the casinos. I swear I was seeing you again and talking with you one last time. It was unreal! but when I left I thank god for I felt as if your angel was watching over me. I love you and miss you so very much!

Dad its hard to be leave your gone and time has past so fast. I still tear up thinking of you. I miss you so very much! Love, your little girl.

Man this summer just wasn't the same without you in Iowa!!  We did not throw any dicedown at uncle hanks or enjoy any cold buds together but you were always in or hearts and minds.  tomatoes and cabbage rolls that s how we roll!!!!  Miss you tons.  PS Brody says hi!!!

Chuck.....the memories that I think about every day bring little comfort knowing your in a better place...we all weren't ready for you to leave us, you brought so much love and laughter to our lives...your jokes and witty personality were beyond words.
You were the best step dad and the most amazing grandpa to my boys, the time you spent with them will forever be remembered and cherished. We ALL miss you so much, and we know your our angel watching down on us and protecting us!!! The last moments spent with you at your bedside drinking a Bud, listening to Johnny Cash, and having baseball on the TV  will never be forgotten,  and knowing you were finally at peace. Uncle Chuck, it's been over a month and it still dosent feel real! I'm not sure how we can learn to live in this crazy world without you! We all miss you so much it hurts! I know you are watching down on us all and I hope we can make you proud! Thank you for all the wonderful years of great memories! You have been a great role model for us all!! Love you so much! Ron became my father-in-law in 1978 when I returned from a tour in Germany while in the Army.  He didn't like me then and I had 2 strikes against me, (1) I wasn't NAVY, and (2) I was there to take his daughter away from him.  I soon realized how much family meant to him. 
   Ron was a virtuous man, believed in the old family values of working hard, providing for family, and treating others the way he would like to be treated.  He gained the respect and admiration of not only family and friends but of co-workers and clients as well.
     He possessed a special gift of communicating with others and his charisma was almost hypnotic.  When you met him you automatically liked him.  He was personable, candid, and quick witted which with these qualities assured him success in  salesmanship. He took me on his route one time to sell coffee to a Bar out in the sticks in Iowa.  What a challenge I thought.  But when Ron got through with his meeting, he had sold every blend of coffee they carried, to a BAR, whose owner DIDN'T EVEN DRINK COFFEE! I thought that was pretty amazing. "One satisfied customer will bring you five more" he would say. And so it was!
  He was very successful until tragedy struck and he lost his wife at the time.  He went through a period of grief and confusion but decided to take a chance and move to California. There he met the love of his life and the best thing that ever happened to him. Sheryl and her family gave him happiness and purpose and re-ignited the drive in him.  Ron and Sheryl pooled their resources and started Pacific Tank Services. The company is and will be a successfully family owned business. This is his legacy.  
     I am proud to say that this kind, generous man is and will always be my friend in this life and after.  
     Ron once told me, "Nothing lasts forever, so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, avoid the bull---, take chances, & never have regrets, because at one point, everything you did was exactly what you wanted".
     I miss you, breathe easy my good friend.

Well I really miss you uncle it is unbearable to go to your house and see that chair empty. Its heart wrenching to know I will never physically see you again. I really just want you know that I love you uncle. You are missed very much by all of us

Ronnie always had a smile on his face, so I know you gave him as much happiness as he gave to you and your family. Chuck was an incredible person. He was so kind. Chuck used to hand me a five dollar bill when I was working and ask me to play "his song" and play whatever else I wanted with the remaining credits. His song was a country song called Springsteen. Part of the lyrics are "It's funny how a memory sounds like a melody." It is an appropriate line in my life because I thought of him everytime I heard of that song and especially now after his passing. All my love, Sherry.

I have wonderful memories with Chuck and Sheryl, sitting in their backyard learning to love country music. One of my favorite things Chuck would say to me when I called their house was "You're looking good"….and I would smile because he obviously couldn't see me through the phone. He was always a charmer. Another memory is when I worked for Pacific Tanks for a second. I was going to school in Santa Barbara and he gave me the 1-2 pitch, some materials to show potential clients, and sent me on my way. I think he received at least one job because I recall visiting him in a hotel room in Santa Barbara with his trusty Budweiser beer. :) He was always kind to me, never an unkind word. We were related in life by my nephew Julian, his grandson, and forever related by the beautiful spirit of love and kindness. I am sure he will be one of the angels who greets me when it is my time. And I will hug him again, look into those baby blues, and he will tell me that I'm "looking good". Thank you Chuck. Thank you for being in my life and loving me as another member in the Conner/Ford family.

Dear Sheryl and family. Chuck was a wonderful person with a kind heart. When he came back to Iowa he always made time to visit with us. July in Iowa won't be the same without having Chuck around. May time and your memories of him help with your sorrow.  Mike, Kelly and kids.

My heart has been with you and your family everyday as you have walked through this time.  The greatest gift that Ronnie has left you and your family is that he loved you all very much.  We always hope our loved ones will do what we need them to do, so that we can feel safe in our journey with them,which they rarely do! However, when they are no longer with us, it is always there love for us that stands out.  Even though we wish they were still here with us, it is their love, and our love for them that carries us through to the next day.  You and your children were so blessed when Ronnie joined your family, the love he had for you and your children gave you much love and healing.  For that alone, He will always be special to me. He made my friend and her family happy and safe...No other gift is as important, and what we all should aspire to leave behind when we leave this world..Loving others has always been what God wanted us to be remembered for, this is our purpose here on earth.  Ronnie achieved God's purpose with his love for you, his family and all his friends..He will be remembered with LOVE.

Chuck, thank you for everything you have done for us. You are an amazing man. We miss and love you very much.
