Rodolfo was cherished as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on September 27, 1930, in Mexico City to Manuel Juarez and Cristina Martinez, his life was marked by fearless determination, kindness, humor, strength, grit and unwavering courage.
Rodolfo was the youngest of seven siblings. He demonstrated resilience from a young age as he was often unhoused during his childhood. Self-taught in reading and writing, Don Rudy enjoyed reading the “La Opinion” newspaper daily.
Rodolfo dedicated his life to the art of leather craftsmanship. His creations included police utility belts, golf bags, leather shoes, and personalized purses for his daughters. Today they continue to reflect his craftsmanship and love.
At the age of 18, Don Rudy met his soulmate, Isaura Alicia Ramos, and their love story blossomed. They married two years later and were blessed with six children - Humberto, Rebecca, Patricia, Alejandra, Soledad, and Christina. Seeking better opportunities, Don Rudy brought his family to the United States, obtaining citizenship through his craft. To continue to support his family, he constantly sought ways to secure new employment. He worked tirelessly as a maintenance custodian in addition to his work as a leather craftsman. On weekends, he sold tortillas door-to-door, to fulfill his noble role as the family’s provider.
Rodolfo was cherished for his wit, passion for soccer, love of swap meets, energy for travel, skills on the dance floor, captivating storytelling, expressive language and his nurturing presence in the lives of many.
