Ramona was 1 of 14 children and grew up working in the fields. There she met and began a life with Lionel. They married in 1952 and were inseparable. They had 3 loving sons – Lionel Ochoa Jr., Zeke Ochoa (Preceded in Death), and Sammy Ochoa.
Ramona was a supportive pastor’s wife. She and Lionel traveled and relocated multiple times to do the Lord’s work. She never complained about any situation.
She was known for being ahead of her time. Her ability to watch and study others work, and recreate what she saw made her better than Youtube. She often mastered it better than the creator. She sat back, with a proud smile, and enjoyed her labor.
Ramona was known for her homemade flour tortillas, fried chicken, cinnamon cookies and crocheting. She was the epitome of a green thumb. She would turn a dead plant into a garden and a weed into a flower.
She helped raise her grandchildren and even some of her great grandchildren. The word “tired” was not in her vocabulary, even when she got up before the roosters. She couldn’t have done it without her coffee and bread to start her mornings.
She enjoyed her Novelas, Family Feud, Funny You Should Ask, and the Andy Griffith Show.
To know Ramona you knew she was love. Ramona was a resilient and virtuous woman. Above all, she was a woman of God. Ramona had the utmost pride in being a Wife and Mother. She enjoyed the Sisters in Church and kept up with them over the phone. The Hermana’s made her smile, laugh and reminded her she was not alone. She cherished her few lasting moments with them at church. There are so many memories we hold dear to us. Please remember those times. Her memory and legacy will live on through the many lives she changed and the hearts she touched.
Ramona will be missed by so many, but has now reunited with Lionel and they are both rejoicing in the Lord. Amen…
