Dear Ortiz Family,
My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to you during this difficult time. I would like to share a personal memory of Sgt. Pat Ortiz from when I was just a little girl living in Ontario, California. One day, he was patrolling our street, and as he passed by, I ran to the sidewalk to wave at him. Being so young, I remember feeling such joy and tenderness in that moment. To my delight, Sgt. Ortiz would continue to pass by and visit us on our street.When his firstborn was old enough to visit Disneyland, Sgt. Ortiz took me along with them. He made me feel like a part of his family, and I will never forget the kindness and generosity he showed me. He had such a profound impact on my life—a man of honor and admiration. For years, I had been searching for him to express my gratitude, and I was heartbroken to learn of his passing. I carry with me the regret that I was unable to thank him personally, but I hope he knew how much he mattered to those around him.Sgt. Ortiz truly made a difference in my life, and I will forever be grateful for the wonderful memories he gave me. My prayers are with all of you during this time of grief.I leave you with this verse for comfort and peace:"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18

So sorry to hear the news of Pat’s passing, we were the Tres Primos,  our parents  Josephine and Frank Sedillo, Ramon and Conchita Barber, Joe and Lupe Ortiz all married in 1952 and had David, Ramon Jr. and Patrick in 1953.  We were the Tres Primos and we were very close, but our lives grew and more apart. We didn’t always see each other as often as we should have, but relived many memories when we did get together. We missed you for quité a while and will now always miss your laughter. Only two left and your memory will always be with us..... 

Pat and I started the Police Dept, within a year of each other... worked a lot of shifts together.... always positive, upbeat and fun! One of my favorite stories about Pat: him and Tony Del Rio, went to Manuel’s  El Tepac  in ELA, both ordered the  unfinishable “Manuel Special” Pat finished his and the rest of Tony’s! RIP PAT 🙏🏻💪🏻🙏🏻

So sad, Pat was my Sgt for some shifts prior to his retirement, one of the best.  I always teased him on his Kings Jersey number 27, it was my cousins number when he played with the Kings.  (TED IRVINE)Miss my Sgt.

Prayers for Pat’s family and love ones. Hoping your memories of him eases some of the pain you are feeling at this time.

I worked with Pat for many years, he was a true professional, and had a great sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss, May god comfort you and be assured you and I will see him again. I will miss his smiling face.

Lupe and family so sorry to hear the news about Patrick he was a loving cousin and nephew we will never forget him and we will keep all in our prayers

On behalf of my mother Lupe, my surviving brother George and I. I want to share of how proud we were when our brother Pat achieved a College degree, following a long career with the Ontario PD. He was a loving father n a typical older brother to us 4 siblings. , meaning he called the shots and would tease us all as older brothers can💖.  We will remember how he was a avid sports lover of baseball, ice hockey, football, you name it he loved it.  When Pat was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease he started the slow subtle decline of the brother we grew up with and loved as a adult.  This disease is horrible as some of you have experienced in your lives.  We will remember him as the Patrick we all choose to remember.  We pray he is in paradise through the belief and salvation in the following of Jesus Christ and repentance.  We will all miss you Pat💔
