
While my heart is sadden and grieves of the transition  of our dear beloved Brother Hubert "Ubi" Wilson, my heart can only feel "joy" to have know such a "remarkable and  wonderful man" in my life.

He is only resting with the ancestors and awaiting the second coming of Our Lord and Jesus Christ. 

We will soon meet Him and our loved ones  in the Clouds in the middle of the air when that last trumpet sounds........ Thank and praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. Amen!

Dear Ubi,

We will always wonder if you knew when we came to visit you and pray to God that somehow you knew.  Distance and distance alone precluded us from being there more often.   

I will miss your boisterous laughter, your wit, and your "I DID IT MY WAY" attitude toward life.  

I am so glad that our paths crossed.   May God bless you and may you rest in eternal peace.

Hubert was the Angel that saved my husband Augustine Agwuenu 17 years ago when he had his first.  Thank you very much for what you did for my family.  You will be missed,  you are an extraordinary human being but God wants you with him as his right hand Angel.  Josephine Agwuenu for the family. 

Thank you for being a friendly face whose camaraderie evolved into a most pleasant AQMD friendship. You became an unexpected mentor and always encouraged me to fly. Because of that, I knew that I could. I will miss your phone calls to remind me 1. To watch out for management at work, although I am now a manager; 2. To continue writing; and 3. That I "can't kill the boy." Although I have quite a few gray hairs, it is because of your regular admonishment that I survived raising a boy and that he is still thriving at 23. 

We both thank you and pray your soul is at peace.

Hubert my fellow country man was an amazing friend! I loved his big heart, and the always informative and interesting conversations. With him nothing was impossible...Rest well my good friend!

Like many here, I can attest that Hubert was a kind, knowledgeable, and interesting person.  I will miss his laughter and his keen ability to make sure I understood his point of view.  Rest in Peace dear friend.

For years at work, and then later, randomly, at a nearby coffee shop, Hubert more often than not had something meaningful to say, delivered in his unique tempo and diction. I will miss Hubert.

I met you when I was only ten years old. I was told to address you as "uncle Bill" even though you were married to my mom. I can't thank you enough for your guidance and support through the years. You always encouraged me to assume excellence. I graduated from high school and attended USC. I later pursued a career in banking and when you learned that I was going back to school to pursue nursing while working full time, you encouraged me and told me I could do it, and I did. You were my biggest cheerleader when I purchased my home as a young single female. Your words of encouragement never left me. Although you and my mom divorced, your support was always present and I thank you. May you shine in heaven. Continue to debate and show everyone how smart you are. Say hello to my grand mummy and rest in paradise.

My Dear Friend for 29 years.  You will be missed.

I remember all the times we had our many conversations through the years that we worked together and the times he practiced his Saxophone on the north wing of the 3rd floor during lunch. I wish I could have gotten to know him better. I was sorry to hear of his illness and of his passing. He will be missed. Good bye my friend; you belong to eternity now (RIP).

Hubert was a kind hearted, generous person who was willing to share his wisdom and knowledge and most of all his time to anyone who needed it.  I will miss the numerous political, social and general life discussions we shared.  He was truly a learned man.

There was only one Hubert Wilson! 
(Hubie Doobie, to alot of us at the South Coast Air Quality Management District.) I will always remember Hubie playing his Sax  during his lunch hour and how the music echoed. Well educated made Hubert's conversations very interesting. Hubie! You will always be in our AQMD Family Hearts - Por Vida!

Hubert will be missed. Hubert and I had many conversations and with each one of them I walked away with a little more knowledge about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness his words were encouraging and sincere. He was always in good spirit I visualize his walk, his infectious laughter and his knowledge wisdom and drive as an AQMD employee. Hubert was full of life and one of the nicest, kind and gentle souls that I have ever met. He always made me smile and I loved him as a co-worker and a friend. I was Hubert's first supervisor at AQMD and we were always close friends.  It was very sad recently during our visits together to see his health declining.  Rest in peace my good friend!

I worked with Hubert, he had the wisdom and knowledge to guide through the work environment.  I will miss him.
