Diane and I had so much in common, besides being almost exactly the same age. We loved fashion and the importance of balance in home decor. She was a much better seamstress than I (she would make it ... I would buy it).  I'm hoping she is looking down encouraging and guiding my new creative efforts. 
In the 80's we carpooled to and from Orange to Los Angeles for work.  The traffic was always bad even then. Diane would get so frustrated with the stop and go traffic of our commute she would say "We're never getting home." I would respond, "You're right, we're never getting home." To this day I use that response when appropriate and think of Diane sitting beside me as we slowly travel down the highway. BTW we always made it home, eventually. Now she is really home and I am so glad I will see her when I eventually go home as well.
