#21 and family, .....this really hit close to home for me, although we have never met. There's something to be said for being a part of the " softball community," and the extension of well wishes, love and prayers in not only bad times but good as well. I've been lucky enough to be apart of such a community, as it has saved my life many times over. As I am sure your daughter felt this way, and many others, it's not always about the softball that keeps you coming back or to play harder. It's the family you make the day you step on the field as a team for the very first time. That's a truly special moment and one I've never forgotten. I'm so happy she was able to be apart of that, as I really do believe that's one of the most amazing gifts and most precious set of memories one could be fortunate enough to have in what was unfortunately, too short a life. I do believe , even if it's too hard to see it right now, that she's right there with you, your family and her team. Aside from being a softball player at one time 1000 miles away, I'm also a parent. My heart aches for you all. I cannot imagine for a second what your going through so I won't pretend to . I do know this though....being a parent is one of the most special gifts and YOU ( #21mom and#21 dad) had the opportunity, if even taken away too soon, to at least be that for her . You have an undeniable bond that never leaves even when gone. That's a real gift to have even if it doesn't seem as such now. But it will, eventually. I've rambled for too long but I did want to write something to extend my deepest condolences in this not so pleasant time. I hope you can find peace if even for a second, to remember the good days, the laughs, the memories, the hopes, the dreams, the at bats, the time you saw her at 1st base, and most importantly, the love you all shared. #21, rest in peace

Santa Ana 18u Gold playing for Dana today. Our angel on the field. RIP little sister.

I can't imagine the heartbreak you must be feeling as parents to this young lady. We were at the field that day watching as our own daughter played. God had a plan. I pray that you have the strength of a million angels to continue your life without her. Continued prayers and blessings.

Although I never met Dana, I knew her through her father's eyes. Larry and I have worked together for many years and I cannot remember a time when he spoke of her or any of his children without a twinkle in his eye.

Rest in Gods arms baby girl, ive heard alot how much if a great ball player and a wonderful young lady you were and will remain being. Im so sorry this happened to you, why does the Lord take the best of us ? You were so young and had so much more life to live.. this season i promise to do it up for you while i play on the cyclones club ball team 16u . Its amazing how much support youve recieved from the softball commmuntiy and everyone around you. We will keep on showing that support for you always, rest up and keep ballin up there my angel #21
