Dear Mom,
These last few weeks have been the hardest on me, I miss you so much, and you are/were my best friend, the one person I could confide my fears, my joys, my happiness, and you are not with me now.  I have an empty void in my heart and it hurts so much.  
You were there from the beginning of time for me, my one softball year, and we found out that wasn’t a good match for me, so I went on to baton twirling for years, you were there for practice, competition,  and parades.  You were there for my marriage and when it broke up, you helped guide me with the raising of my kids.  When the house burnt down you let us move in and you helped take Michael to school.  You picked him and his friend up and when they stayed the night, they thought it was a so much fun they got to do things that they couldn’t at home.  It was wonderful that Michael had an awesome Grandma.   When my kids had events that meant something to me you were there for me and them.  Like baseball games, graduation and so much more.   Then I went back to college to get my degree, you were there every step of the way taking some classes with me, or grading my papers/research reports/phycology report, or even being a subject in one or a few of them.   Thank you!!!!  
When Jonathan got married you were the one I went to first to give my big news to and that was such an exciting day for me and you embraced the news with me so that it was even more special, though you were having difficulties with your health.  
When Michael broke his hand and had surgery, I wanted you there and you were.  I was scared because you were having your own health issue (I was afraid of you driving) but you were beside me all day.  I thank you so much for always being with me…. 
When we lived with you and Grandma Carr, and she was in the hospital you taught me what a daughter meant to her mom.   I only hope i was as good of a daughter to you and you were to her.

It was my pleasure to help care for Stan when he was ill, and then  was asked by Carolyn to stay on, I enjoyed my talks with  Carolyn, she was an inspiration to me as a mom and grandmother, I asked her many questions about every day life and she shared with me like I was family, she was strong determined and very stubborn, which was a quality I actually loved . I am proud to call her my friend and glad she will suffer no more,  Heaven got another angel, and her garden in Heaven will be the best of the best, Rest in peace my friend, Love Sharon

Dear G-ma, 

Thank you for your unwavering support throughout my entire life. You are one the the strongest women I have ever known and you lived with such poise and grace your entire life even in the end. 

You will be greatly missed! Thank you for hanging on to celebrate with Robert and I, it meant the world to me.

Thank you for all the shared memories with our family and yours. Your friendship will always be cherished. You and Stanley will never be forgotten.

Dear Carolyn,  You laughed every time I told you “you are my favorite mother-in-law “.  You would always say  “ I’m your only mother-in-law”.  Well after 30 plus years you are still my favorite!   I will miss you dearly!  You truly are one of the strongest women I know! The support you showed for our/your family, even when it almost killed you or grandpa, to get to family events will never be forgotten.  Love you forever,  love you for always!

Grandma Hudson,

As my family continues to grow with our second baby on the way, I start to think more and more about the family that you raised.  You raised such a large family….which I find ironic because you could be the tiniest person I know!  However, that has taught me that it is not the size of the person that matters…. it’s the size of the heart that makes the difference.  I realize that with all your recent heart attacks causing you so much pain and aggravation, you probably weren’t too happy with your heart.  However, I want to remind you that its your incredible heart which has filled this family with so much love.  

You have set such a great example for all of us.  Whether it was your commitment to our family get togethers, the dedication and sacrifices you made as a wife, or the way you helped shape your kids and grandkids.  We couldn’t be more proud of you.  And we couldn’t be more thankful for the leadership you gave this family.   You are the epitome of what it means to be a Hudson.  And it’s that love and commitment that I am so excited about passing down to this new generation.  So, as you take on your new role in heaven at God’s side, please know that we will carry on by your example.  

I’d like to end with a Bible verse that I believe you would enjoy.  1 Corinthians 13:13 - “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”

I remember Carolyn  as a strong, resilient, generous and very ADVENTUROUS  lady who seemed  to never run out of energy!
I believe her favorite moments were spending time with her family whether it was tending to their needs,  special outings or celebrations.
I enjoyed seeing Stan and Carolyn pull into the driveway of their vacation home across the street.  We could  always count on being fed well along with fun and enlightening conversations which will never be forgotten.

Dear Carolyn (Mom)
I have been thinking a lot about the last 23 years I have gotten to know and love you. We first met in Feb 1996, and Chris and I ended up living there for two years to save for a house. For that I am forever grateful.  Over the years, you were always there for me when I was needing someone to assist with medical appointments, drive me to the airport, or just a listening ear.
 
You always made me feel like I was a welcomed addition to the family.  Your kindness and loving nature always drew me closer.  I will always think back to the Halloween of 98 or 99, not sure which, that I dressed up as a pregnant lady at my job, and you came home from work, the expression on your face was priceless!   And of course the night you went grocery shopping at about 10 PM, and I locked you out of the house, the expression on my face, was hidden under the covers when you got home.

You were an amazing lady, Chris and I will both miss you.

For Carolyn,
As much as I enjoyed my brother Stan, who passed last year, I loved and enjoyed his wife, my dear sister-in-law, Carolyn.  She has been a strong presence in my life since she and Stan married some 60 years ago.
As the years went on, I called her "Sis" as that is the way I felt about her. She was one of the strongest woman I've known and had such a wonderful sense of humor, which she passed down to her awesome children.  Family was everything to her.  She never missed an opportunity to attend ANY family gathering.  And when she attended a gathering,  so did most all the family.  She was a hard worker, an eager learner and was always willing to help each and every family member, including her extended family.  We shared numerous memories over these many years, that I will cherish forever...
I will miss her...

Dear Mom,

I miss you. I wish you were here. Mom you are irreplaceable. Know that you are missed more that words can ever say. I feel your absence every day of my life. All I could think about these past few days was stopping Schat’s Bakery to bring you home some Sheephearder’s bread like I had done so many times before. 

I was a challenge to you and dad as a child. I did many things I shouldn’t have. You had to pick me up from the police station on more than one occasion but you always believed in me. You had to take me to the emergency room on many occasions for five broken bones, many other injuries and you never discouraged me from playing sports where most of the injuries occurred. You were an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. You had amazing patience raising five active children. You spent many hours helping me with term papers history… and never complained. 

I will always remember the way you treated each of us kids and the way you were always there for every member of our family. You sacrificed yourself for the good of the family taking care of Teri and dad through many health issues. The values and lessons that you taught each of us will influenced our lives over generations.
