Anne Mae Ferguson (nee Pitzer), born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 10, 1931, passed away in St. Louis, MO on September 4, 2018 at the age of 87 years. She moved to California in her early teens and lived there for the majority of her life. She had a long career with the Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services where she began as an intake clerk and finished out her career as an appeals worker. She developed many close, lifelong friends while at the department. In 1995, she was confirmed as a member at St. John Lutheran Church in Covina, CA, where she was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Sewing Guild, and Board of Care and Support until 2016 when she moved to St. Louis, MO.
Anne is survived by her brother, Robert Pitzer, her daughters Kathryn and Suzanna, her son Kenneth, her sons-in-law Ernest and Lance, her daughter-in-law Sheila and her grandchildren Meagan, Joshua, and Kayleigh Blome and Joshua, Sergio, DeChauncey, Alison and Constance Downtain and Rex Pelly. She will be lovingly remembered by her dearest friends and traveling companions Charlotte Hyatt and Gladys Blakey as well as many others whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 pm at Oakdale Mortuary 1401 S. Grand Avenue, Glendora, California 91740.
Funeral services will be performed on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church 304 E. Covina Boulevard, Covina, California 91722.
