

Carolyn Shadek was born to George and Annabelle Koronas in Brooklyn, NY, on November 3rd, 1961. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Clune. Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband, Michael, of 25 years. Loving mother of Katrina (Patrick) and Jason (Desiree). Proud Grammy to Aidan, Ayla, Jace, and Harley. Cherished aunt of Deborah, Mikayla, and Emma. Further survived by a loving uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Carolyn was a loving Grammy that adored her grandchildren. She smothered them with affection and unconditional love. Carolyn was also loved dearly by many friends and family. She had an infectious laugh and was always the loudest in the room. Nothing was more important to her than the people she loved, and she loved generously.
She loved vacationing with her family and especially loved summers spent in Eagle Lake. She dedicated her life to working with children in education and recreation. She loved celebrating the holidays with many family traditions. Carolyn enjoyed traveling with her family to historical sites, amusement parks, museums, concerts, and loved a good haunted house in the Fall. She loved Halloween and could be found in costume, sitting on her stoop in front of her decorated house, handing out fist fulls of candy to trick-or-treaters every year. She loved dogs and called Harper and Lucy her "bookends" because they could always be found sitting on each side of her.
