Carol Ann Donovan

Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. She was born in 1938 to Peter & Johanna Bachert in Ridgewood, NY. She spoke only German until she was 5 years old and started school. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood.

She married Robert Donovan in 1959 and in 1974 moved to Glendale, NY where she raised her family. With her 3 children all in grammar school Carol volunteered to work at Wyckoff Heights Hospital in 1972 and the hospital soon offered her a full time position of employment. She eventually worked her up to become Director of Human Resources and retired from that position after 25+ years at Wyckoff.

Carol loved fine dining and travel, particularly to Hawaii where she journeyed more than 10 times. She was happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren as they meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and her beloved dog, Oliver. She is survived by her daughter Carol Cass (Martin), sons James (Amy) & Christopher and grandchildren Marty, Colleen and Robert Cass, Julia & Thomas Donovan and Kerry Donovan.

A visitation for Carol will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Werst & LaBella Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale, NY 11385. Committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at All Faiths Cemetery, 67-29 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379.
